Musical Education

The greatest education I could have asked for: 10 years in New York City with a group of about 15 like-minded shed-monsters who drove me to practice until the sun came up, and put up or shut up onstage

Current Projects

Looking to get back to gigging after the longest hiatus in my life of almost 2 years

Musical Interests

Started with the usual suspects: Zeppelin, Hendrix, The Who, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and when I started playing (after seeing Stevie Ray Vaughan, just a genius) I got heavy into the blues, Albert King, Albert Collins, Jimmie Vaughan, so many, Then onto the jazzier side of things with Robben Ford, Steve Carlton, Wes, Kenny Burrell, Grant Green, Miles Davis, Coltrane, and finally a big chicken pickin phase with everybody from Don Rich to Jim Campilongo, all time favorite: Roy Buchanan

Favorite Bands

Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Beatles, The Stones, Pink Floyd, Miles Davis, Roy Buchanan, John Coltrane, John McLaughlin, Jean-Luc Ponty, Stanley Clarke, Santana, Stevie Ray and Jimmie Vaughan, Albert King, Albert Collins, Robert Cray, Robben Ford, Alice in Chains, U2, The Smiths, The Police, Buck Owens, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Hendrix, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Van Halen, Michael Jackson, The Pretenders, Heart, Bob Dylan, The Band, and a thousand more

Favorite Instruments

Music has been a constant companion for as long as I can remember.  In fact, my first complete memory is looking at a turntable, with "Who's Next" spinning on it,  Baba O'Riley blasting out of 2 massive speaker towers at a birthday party of a friend of my mother's in Berkeley, Ca. many moons ago.  The limitless power of music is a constant wonderment, and to be able to help people make music for a living is a gift and an honor that I'm grateful for.  My current position at Guitar Center finds me back in the world of vintage instruments, and working out of the incomparable Hollywood location. If you haven't been by recently, you have to make time if you're in town!!!

I have spent over 20 years swimming in the vintage pool and would love to talk about anything vintage guitars and amps: Fender, Marshall, Vox, Gibson, Martin, Rickenbacker, Supro, Gretsch, Dobro, National, Danelectro, Teisco, Mosrite, Airline...the list goes on.  Some of my favorite pieces include Telecasters, Stratocasters, Les Paul's, Customs, ES335's, ES330's, Gibson Juniors and Specials (especially TV finishes!), Fender tweed amps...Deluxes, Supers, Bassmans and Twins, and all the Fender Blackface amps with the Vibrolux Reverb, Deluxe Reverb and Super Reverbs always being go-to's.  When it comes to acoustics I love Martin D28's and D18's but mu favorite is a 000-28.  Gibson flat-tops that I've owned include J45's and several of the LG' on the wish list is a J185 or a Southern Jumbo.
