My earliest childhood memories revolve around music. I was introduced to The Beatles around age 7 by my older sister who at the time owned almost the entire Beatles catalog on vinyl. We'd sit in our bedroom and listen to these albums over and over while reading the lyrics and discussing what our favorite songs were and why. Through my sister's large record collection I was introduced to Led Zeppelin, Pat Benatar, Van Halen, Fleetwood Mac and many other classic rock icons.
The following years I remember being glued to my television and experiencing the golden years of MTV. I watched videos of Eddie Van Halen in awe and thats when I started to get that itch to play the guitar. It wasn't hard to convince my Dad to buy me a guitar, he grew playing guitar so how could he not. So at age 12 my Dad bought me my first guitar and next years of my life were spent reading guitar magazines and learning as many songs as I could. Some of my early guitar heroes were Slash, Joe Satriani and Dimebag Darrell.
At age 19 I joined my first band Romantic Torture where I played acoustic rhythm guitar. We played up and down the Sunset Blvd at venues such as The Whisky a Go-Go, The Roxy, The Troubadour, The Roxbury, etc. Although we don't play out very much anymore, this band is still together today. Lately, I have been studying classical guitar which has opened another world of music for me.
