"Its not the years in your life, but the life in your years"

Im Matt Dittus, and I work at Guitar Center Hollywood!  Let me tell you a little bit about myself :

I started with the company in April of 2012, and am currently the manager of the electric guitar department.

I am an audio engineer, in addition to playing electric guitar and bass.

I love to write, record and mix music.

I started with electric guitar at 13, and recording digitally at 15.

I am also a comptetitve fighter in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, and MMA.

I currently play in two bands..

A metal project called Verneshot and a pop bunk band called From Here to LA.  I also used to be in a death metal band called The Charming.

With music, I really enjoy writing, recording and mixing tracks.  Production tracks, jingles, full on bands.. you name it.  Im always fascinated by tweaking tones.  I can spend hours shaping sounds.. I always strive for better sounding drum and guitar tracks.  I own a slew of gear.. here is just a few examples :

Apogee Ensemble

Chanlder TG2 Abbey Road Preamp

Chameleon Labs 7602 Pre/Eq and 7802 Opto Tube Compressor

Adam A7 Monitors

Sansamp RBI Bass Preamp

American Standard Fender P Bass

Gibson Les Paul Custom Lite

Fender Standard Telecaster with Seymour Duncan Hot Rails and TBX tone circuit

The list goes on and on..

Feel free to contact me to talk about any gear, or if you have any questions about how to get a parcticular tone or sound.  I have also taught recording classes as well, so feel free to ask for any recording techniques or mixing tips!
