In 1992 he graduated from the Guitar Institute of Technology (also known as Musician's Institute). Since then he has played with local bands, has backed several singer-songwriters, and played the Agoura Hills Bluegrass Festival.

    With over 25 years of teaching experience, Alex teaches multiple instruments: Guitar, Bass Guitar, Banjo, Ukulele (Soprano, Tenor, Baritone), Mandolin, Piano, Harp, Recorder, and Tin Whistle.
