    Jackson taught himself into Western Connecticut State University’s music program. He is completely self taught on electric bass, guitar, ukulele, and several other instruments. At a young age he started playing bass and alto saxophone and learned how to read music out of a book. He would learn every sound around him that he could with his bass including bird calls, commercial jingles, songs off the television and more. By age 12 Jackson was already playing paying venue gigs and battle of the bands. Many jam sessions, original bands, live venue performances, recording sessions, and school concerts on bass and saxophone later he found himself in Jazz school where he intensively studied music theory, upright bass, jazz voice, and more, including learning about piano in class and by songwriting and arranging jazz tunes in his own time. However, Jackson has extensive experience, both in and out of university, teaching and performing many genres in addition to jazz, including funk, rock, blues, pop, punk, electronic music, metal, folk, reggae, hip hop, experimental music, bossa nova, samba, country, and just about any genre or combination of genres you can name. Jackson has met a number of musicians that inspire him and befriended them and learned about music with them since graduating. He has put out music with original bands in the past, performed with successful jazz artists, and releases his own music in all different styles regularly, completely created by himself in his home studio. Since last year when he started releasing his own music, Jackson has released two original songs, three original instrumental compositions, and this year has already released three lofi hiphop beattapes. Jackson also has had a lot of success on YouTube in the past year racking up hundreds of thousands of views on his YouTube channel!

    I started playing and performing music for violin in middle school, where I was classically trained and practiced for several years before switching to primarily guitar. Since then, playing drums began as just a hobby but soon grew to be another musical passion. Paired with several years of music theory studies and performing with a few bands for the past decade or so, I developed my sense of style and technique in a variety of settings.     Tyrell "Tru" Turney is a self-taught, experienced artist and musician. He taught himself to play piano, organ, guitar, and voice. He also has formal education on snare drum and djembe. He later learned music theory in high school and college to broaden his music education. Tru's background with these instruments has allowed him to perform for the community. He has worked with The All Stars Project Inc., which hosts a number of opportunities for the youth in disenfranchised communities. They are linked with The Development School for Youth, The Talent Show Network, and Youth on Stage. He is an Alumni in all of their programs and has performed for theatre accompaniments, galas, luncheons, and close engagements. Tru is also a member of Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship Inc. They help orchestrate community building programs, scholarships, and go above and beyond to help the youth achieve academic and professional excellence. Tru does his best to perform in all ventures and avenues. He teaches others not to simply learn it on the internet, but take the step to showcase and perform.

I have been in a number of rock bands and have been touring the Untied States for over 8 years. I love teaching music, writing music, and performing music.
