From there, he played in rock ‘n roll bands before deciding to study guitar seriously at Boston’s Berklee College of Music, from which he graduated with honors in 1986. While at Berklee, Scott developed an interest in jazz performance, and studied with long-time professors Steve Carter, Bill Bresnahan, Tom Szymczak, and Al Defino. From 1992-1994, Scott played with the “Merrimack New Hampshire Community Jazz Ensemble” before joining Manchester, NH-based “Moe Breton’s Big Band” from 1994-1998. During that period, he also was a member of “Pepper’d Jazz,” a jazz quintet led by New York vocalist Eddie Pepper. Since then, Scott perfoms with the "Freese Brothers Big Band" and enjoys playing "gypsy swing" in the style of Django Reinhardt. In 2009, Scott graduated cum laude from Southern New Hampshire University with an MBA in International Business. From 2010-2017, Scott also worked at Berklee College of Music in the Admissions Department, and can coach prospective students due to his familiarity with the Berklee guitar proficiency requirements and the College’s mission, academic programs, and admission requirements.

Nick holds a Bachelor's degree in Music from Eastern University of CT. He is currently seeking his Master's in Music at HARTT. Nick is into many different genres from classical and musical theater, to rock and jazz. His personal specialties lie in music theory and composition, as well as in depth classical and fingerstyle techniques. He hopes to give his students the skills they need to succeed in music whether it be just for themselves or for the big stage. In his own words; "One of the most important musical experiences that started me down the path of being a musician was playing bass in the pit for the musical "Annie" my sophomore year of high school. I had never done something like that before, so I was very out of my comfort zone. I had to learn a number of new skills for the show; how to read music, how to play with a large band, and how to manage my time efficiently so I could learn the music in a timely manner. After the rehearsals and performances, I saw how fun and welcoming of a world musical theater can be which is now making want to pursue it as a career."

    Fernando Sanchez
    Distance: mi
Guitar Center Manchester 120-B Hale Rd. Manchester, CT
Hello! My name is Fernando Sanchez, I am a Dominican guitarist, pianist, and producer. I started my training in classical guitar when I was 9 years old after I got obsessed with borrowing my sister’s old guitar and playing loudly around the house. A few years later, I started taking classical piano and music theory classes in the Instituto de Cultura y Arte, a music and dance school in Dominican Republic. After moving to New York I began my music production journey where I’d combine my knowledge in guitar, piano, and bass guitar to record my own music — eventually graduating from Queensborough with a Music Production degree. My guitar playing focuses on fingerstyle American folk and Latin American styles like samba, bossa nova, bachata, and bolero. As for piano I’m mostly focused on jazz and improvisation. Additionally, I study music theory - in particular jazz improvisation and classical composition. When it comes to teaching, I believe everyone has their own journey towards playing the music they love — there is no right or wrong way to approach music and it is my responsibility to help future musicians down the path they are most comfortable with, always emphasizing safe playing and learning techniques. Additionally, I can teach in both English and Spanish!

    Sean Maclure
    Distance: mi
Guitar Center Manchester 120-B Hale Rd. Manchester, CT
Sean MacLure has been developing his skills with many teachers and groups for the last 12 years. Spanning from private lessons and school ensembles, to filling in for touring bands and playing in street performances. Punk and hardcore is his bread and butter, but he has a deep appreciation for all genres. He loves learning new music with students as a way to bridge the gap between what he knows, and what they like. Sean has always been extremely technique oriented. If you can prioritize how to play correctly and efficiently first, then everything after that will move as fast as you want it to. He's been teaching since 2022, and has learned that teaching is so much more than what he thought. Alongside new skills, music lessons to him are about wellness, mindfulness, and fulfillment. It's not only about the instrument but also growing a healthy attitude towards learning. He is extremely excited about teaching at Guitar Center Manchester!
