My name is Mike Zion! I have been playing drums since 1996 and piano for over 30 years. Drums are my primary instrument, however, I started with piano lessons when I was a young child. My piano experience makes me an ideal teacher for elementary aged and even adult beginner piano students! I have sat in on Jazz Jam playing drums. I have also been in several rock bands playing drums, most recently Axis of Empire. I have been teaching drum set and piano since 2009, and love to see my students grow as musicians and people. Charles Vincent is a GRAMMY nominated artist who puts the “mental” in multi-instrumentalist. Cutting his teeth in Southern Louisiana playing drums at his dad’s church and for a thrash punk band, he also managed to make High School All-State orchestra (Tympani) before he could read music. He went on to get a Bachelor’s degree in music from Toccoa Falls College. While in College he played Tympani for the Toccoa Symphony and on many weekends played guitar and sang at weddings. After graduating he went on to play drums for Louisiana Zydeco band, Cedric Watson et Bijou Creole. With Bijou Creole he toured internationally headlining festivals in the US, Canada, Ecuador, UK, & Cape Verde. At the same time he worked with many other groups including Brother Dege and the Brethren, (Featured on Quentin Tarantino’s, Django Unchained OST), Feufollet, Cathead Biscuit Boys, and lead his own band, the 20cent Blues Band, that played his original 12-string blues compositions. He worked extensively with Acadiana Center for the Arts and University of Louisiana at Lafayette in musical theater productions and workshops. From 2017 - 2025, Charles based out of Istanbul, Türkiye working with professional and amateur bands and songwriters. He became the lead drummer of Miraz Erbane Topluluğu, a folk hand drumming troupe, that was featured on FoxTürk (Fox news in Türkiye). He filmed for TV (SAT7Türk) and worked with radio programming for Radio Maranata.
