I recently celebrated 35 years in the music field. Although Jazz has been my main endeavor, I do teach all genres and styles. Having been mentored by some of the greats; most notably, my friendship with the late drummer of John Coltrane, Elvin Jones; I served as a drum tech and had a chance to see the world (1990-2004). Since then, I have been a performing and recording artist all over the US. One of the joys of my career has been teaching and imparting any knowledge I may have to others. Not everyone gets to say that they love their job or what they do for a living, but I am one of those fortunate few who does, and this fact has given to my life, not only meaning, but tremendous humility. Music and the learning, teaching, and mastering of it within my limits has been and continues to be a kind of obsession, but I do find time to enjoy cooking and savoring a meal or walking my dog.
