Hello, my name is Dr. L. Sloan. I am an inventor and dabble in other things. But I love music. I was about 17 years old when I purchase my first electric guitar for $25 at a local pawn shop. I have been playing for over 45 years mainly in gospel with a jazzy touch. I was formally trained on guitar at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Illinois. I have traveled and played in the Midwest and California. I love teaching, and my students are equipped to read sheet music and play by ear. I teach the fundamentals from a classical style primarily, then the student can select what style/genre best suits them.
