    Hi, I'm Becca! I've been involved with music for my entire life and have been teaching guitar and ukulele since the age of 14. I became interested in music after my brother did band for a year. I joined band when I was old enough and after a few years I started learning other instruments, one being guitar, which I've been playing for over a decade.     Hello there, I'm Justin, thanks for stopping by! I have a bachelor's degree in music from Columbia College Chicago, along with 19 years of playing experience and 15 years of experience writing original music. I am one of the only instructors that is currently active in the music industry. Having an enormous, lifelong passion for music has led me to the belief that developing a love for music is just as important as understanding it and It is my job to help nurture this passion in my students. In addition to all of the fundamentals and basics, I specialize in teaching music theory, songwriting and composition, and anything related to creating original music. I prefer to start with the fundamentals because this helps students to develop the physical abilities needed to be proficient on their instrument, while also having a concrete understanding of musicality and music theory with no gaps in knowledge that which are common when learning online or teaching oneself. This "ground-up" approach makes more advanced concepts easier to understand and ultimately works towards each student's individual musical goals.

    Hello, my name is Scott Rowe and I teach piano and keyboards. I am formally trained in both classical and jazz piano, theory and composition. I ran my own teaching practice in Los Angeles for 10 years and am now coming out of retirement to teach again. I specialize in jazz/rock/blues and improvisation and work a lot with moving classical students over into these genres. I currently perform in the Rockford area with a classic rock band and also do a lot of solo jazz/classical gigs as well. I look forward to resuming teaching and contributing to the Rockford music scene by adding more up-and-coming musicians to the area!
