Hello! My name is Anthony Burns, I've been a musician for 11 years, over which I've developed my craft and my love for music on several instruments. I'm a guitarist, a trumpet player, a pianist/keyboardist, and I'm experienced in classical music theory, jazz theory, as well as rock and metal. As far as my listening habits go, I'm an avid metalhead, and a big fan of progressive music in general. Over the years I've had the amazing privilege to be able to play in several different musical settings: I've played with community bands in Jamestown, RI, Worcester, MA, and Attleboro MA. Over the past year, I've started a metal project that has broken into the Worcester metal scene, as well as branched out into the broader east coast. During my high school years I played trumpet in our marching band for 6 years, and in college I played trumpet for 1 year and was drum major for 1 year. In addition, I have several experiences with musical theater, during which I played both trumpet and guitar, I've participated in productions of Xanadu, Anastasia, as well as two cabaret shows. I've taught a wide variety of groups and individuals over the years, ranging from a group of over 100 people, to groups of 5-10, all the way down to single students. I participated in outreach programs that toured local middle schools to help out band directors manage their programs and help teach students their instruments from scratch. During the summers, I've worked with high school marching band programs as a field tech, teaching and helping students with the basics and nuances of playing their instruments in the unique setting of marching music. Most recently, I had the opportunity to take a drum major position in my college marching band, in which I had the job of directing field and music rehearsals, and overseeing the progress of the band as we progressed throughout the fall season. Along with my musical experiences, I have a deep love for academia and mathematics, and I'm pursuing a degree in Physics.
