You gotta have the courage to be bad at the start, because later…you won’t be. That’s the simple yet encouraging advice Nick received when he first began to learn the art of playing guitar. And because he was brave enough to follow that bit of insight, Nick is now fluent in the language of acoustic and electric guitar, bass, as well as drums. At the very beginning of his music journey nearly 18 years ago, Nick was drawn to play guitar simply because he really wanted to perform the theme song from the Halo 2 video game, which, to him, had a dynamic flow. From that point, Nick’s appreciation for self-expression through music continued to blossom. He has since explored various genres of music, learning in the process that playing instruments allows an artist to communicate in ways that words sometimes don’t get across. As an instructor at Guitar Center, Nick looks forward to inspiring his students to find some of the really beautiful gifts that playing music can bring.

Hello, my name is Connor Kratzer, and I love music! Guitar playing has been my passion for over 13 years, and I also enjoy songwriting and bass guitar. Classic rock and heavy metal are my all time favorite genres to play, and I also have a lot of experience with blues, surf, and country. I am always up for the challenge of expanding my musical genres and playing techniques to create new and exciting sounds. Whether you’re someone who already has some experience on the instrument, or a brand new student starting out who hasn’t played a note, I’m dedicated to teaching every student brand new techniques or exercises to give them freedom to create and express themselves through the guitar. I believe every person could learn an instrument, through dedication and practice, but the most important aspect of any great guitar player or musician, is the enjoyment that comes from being part of the music, and the connections between the amazing community of musicians of all ages.
