    Seth Waters (Piano/Keyboard, Voice) has degrees in Music Education, Music Composition, and International Teaching; and has taught Music, Dance, Drama, Improv, and English in three countries. Seth loves discovering music from across the eras and vary from place to place; he focuses on songs that are brightly lit in color, rhythm, danceability, and often have a challenging, innovative and unique quality. In addition to playing piano and singing, he starting playing guitar just over a year ago; and has greatly enjoyed the experience of starting from scratch, and making lots of mistakes! As a teacher, he wants students to deeply understand the ideas behind music making and instrument use. He believes that lessons provide a space for students to get their questions answered, their ideas tried out, and for the teacher to figure out the next steps the student can take. He teaches all levels of piano students, and has a strong interest in teaching improvisation, listening skills, and introducing students to new music. He can't wait to have a chance to work with you!

    Ryan has loved music for as long as he can remember, with his dad introducing him to rock and heavy metal which led to his first guitar at 12 years old. He enrolled at Berklee College of Music in 2016 to pursue this lifelong musical dream, studying guitar and film scoring, for which he finished his degree in LA studying with composer Haim Mazar in 2019. Ryan began teaching privately in college and has enjoyed working with students on their playing. After graduating he continued growing in his teaching and has taught at a variety of schools and studios. Ryan has released 3 albums with his band, and is pursuing writing for media projects. He’s excited to work with the GC Portsmouth students!

    Alyssa is a Seacoast-based musician and a recent graduate from the University of New Hampshire in Percussion Performance. She plays in a variety of local groups, playing both drum set with bands and classical percussion in wind bands and orchestras. In 2023, she toured with UNH’s 3-o'clock Big Band at the 50th Anniversary Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia, Italy. She is a life-long lover of music, and draws inspiration not only for her playing, but for her work as a freelance digital illustrator. Alyssa is excited to join the GC Portsmouth team and teach one of the most fun instruments out there!

    Dan Noronha completed his music degree from the University of New Hampshire in 2007 concentrating in piano, composition, and arranging, studying with Paul Merrill, Arlene Kies, and Chad Bowles. He has composed and produced orchestral scores and is an experienced video editor. He is also an active songwriter and enjoys writing for different styles and forums. As a teacher, Dan loves adapting, rewriting, and arranging music to make students feel more successful while learning. He is excited to work with the students at GC Portsmouth!

    Tim Scott is a Seacoast-based guitarist and teacher who studied at the University of New Hampshire. He has competed in local and national classical guitar competitions, and has had the privilege to play with the UNH Symphony Orchestra, Opera Maine, and other local ensembles. He has played lead and rhythm guitar with bands around the area. Tim is also a passionate songwriter and singer. He’s excited to help students learn about the seemingly endless ways to enjoy making music!

    Chris Taylor began his musical journey taking lessons and working at DiCenso’s Drum Shop in Weymouth, MA, learning the basics of rock, reggae, latin, and pop through the owner’s “A Practical Workbook for the Modern Drummer”. He then went on to further study the kit at South Shore Conservatory of Music where he also studied concert percussion, pitched mallet instruments, world drumming, and more with Ed Sorrentino. Chris has performed across New England at a variety of shows with different bands. After a hiatus from drumming to raise a family, Chris has returned to playing and is excited to share his joy and experience with the students at GC Portsmouth!

    John Ventura is a life-long lover of music, having played the guitar for over 30 years. From his childhood in Plaistow, NH, he began learning Van Halen and Metallica on electric, and later found a love for acoustic through his love of Andy McKee. John served in law enforcement and as a lawyer for 20 years, and after retiring, has been teaching workshops to police and public defenders across New England. Combining his early love of music and his later love of teaching, John is excited to work with the students at Guitar Center Portsmouth, and learn even more music to enjoy through working with the students.

    Anthony LiPetri is a guitarist who has performed with a variety of groups including rock music for bar bands, pop music with dance bands, jazz bands, and pit ensembles for theater. Anthony has been heavily inspired by classic rock and jazz music. He had a regular roster of students while studying guitar at UNH and loved making sure they achieved and learned the styles of music they love.     Matthew Crosier is a passionate and dynamic musician. He played in his high school Jazz Band and Jazz Combo and won two awards for outstanding musicianship by the University of New Hampshire at the Clark Terry Jazz Festival. Matthew attended a Berklee College of Music summer program in 2022 during which he was instructed by Berklee Professors, and has also played in a number of independent, personal ensembles, as well as self producing and independently releasing music on streaming services. He is excited to share all the wisdom he learned from a variety of incredible instructors with the students at Guitar Center Portsmouth!

    Jake Heisey is a guitarist and bassist with a passion for keeping the sounds and styles of last-century's music alive in a modern setting. Since early elementary school, he has been influenced by bands such as The Beatles, Queen, The Grateful Dead, Boston, Wings, Phish, and more. When not playing guitar or bass, he plays drums, keys, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, or double bass. Since performing for the first time in fourth grade, he's gone on to appear at The Music Hall, The Colonial Theatre, Nova Arts, loads of theatre pit orchestras, and in many different rock, blues, folk/bluegrass, jazz, and classical groups. Jake is looking forward to sharing his passion with others here at GC Portsmouth.
