Zach has been playing guitar since childhood, first performing with a band at the age of 11. During high school he attended summer programs at Berklee College of Music. After graduation, he got his associate degree in audio engineering, studying classical guitar and playing viola in the college's string ensemble. He then got his bachelor degree in music business at SUNY Oneonta. During this time, he formed a band, picking up bass guitar and performing original music around town and in NYC. Notably, he sustained a severe hand injury at the age of 19 that affected his playing ability. Despite this he continues to study and perform music, overcoming a seemingly impossible challenge.
