Carrie is a violist and violinist with more than 20 years of performance experience. She began taking private violin lessons in 2002, and quickly distinguished herself through competitive performance, orchestral leadership, and chamber music. In 2003, she transitioned to the viola, which quickly became her primary instrument. A graduate of SUNY Fredonia, Carrie earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance with a concentration in viola. Throughout her career, she's performed in the US and Canada, with numerous orchestras and ensembles in Pennsylvania and New York. Carrie has also performed in the Erie performance of the Mannheim Steamroller's Christmas tour and for Long's School of Dance spring recitals, and once in the Lake Erie Ballet's Nutcracker. She now regularly performs as a part of Chadakoin Chamber Ensemble, based in Jamestown, NY. Alongside her classical training, Carrie has maintained a lifelong passion for folk, celtic, and historical music. She is a founding member of the pirate band, Stormalong Scoundrels, who reimagines sea shantys and writes original music. Carrie also co-founded a folk group called Peddler's Wake where we write and perform folk, celtic, and historical tunes as often as we can gain an audience.
