Josh inherited his late grandfather's guitar at the age of 13. After seeing the movie "School of Rock", he knew that he wanted to play on stage in a band. He took lessons with local legend and orchestra teacher Burt Mueller, and then Jazz and Blues Wiz, Corey Coleman, who taught him scales, modes, harmony and improvisation. Josh then attended SUNY BCC, graduating with an associates degree in performance and sound engineering.
