Hello Aspiring Shredders! Thanks for checking out my profile!  I started to learn how to play the guitar at 9 years old. I was inspired to start learning by artists like John Mayer, Pink Floyd, and Paco de Lucia.  I competed in Solo Classical Guitar UIL at UT Austin all through-out high school. Scoring 1 my freshman and sophomore year. Then Outstanding Perfomance my junior and senior year! My goal now is to spread the knowledge and joy of music to everybody.

Starting like most of us here, I formed a band in high school that mostly played originals and performed in many battle of the bands. We went out and won most of the competitions and it taught me a learning routine with a band while enjoying the new and exciting attention the comes with audience reciprocation. We went out and won most of the competitions and it taught me learning routine and structure and most importantly on how to work with a band and in front of an audience which can be daunting, yet exhilarating. Right out of high school, I met an incredible singer and formed a successful wedding band called Blue Rio Variety Band that was around for over 12 years. We played all over Texas and stayed busy most of the time with private parties and weddings mostly. Having a full brass section, keyboard player, multiple singers and more taught me a great deal on how to sit well in the mix of a sonically busy band.

Fast forward to today, I have a small project with one of those phenomenal singers and we play around the Rio Grande Valley at the moment. I enjoy sitting in with a good friend Isaac Romero and playing his originals, but I also have a third project in the works. I try to stay busy with many things to constantly stimulate my mind and help me become a better musician.

Hello all, my name is Carlos. I love singing, and have been in choir since I was in 5th grade. I'm currently involved in two choirs. One is the church choir at Church of the Advent Episcopal and the other is Chorus of the Rio Grande Valley.
