I started playing music around the age of 10 or 12 when my dad bought me a cheap guitar he got from a friend at the swap meet. The guitar was pretty terrible but of course at the time I didn't know any better. I started playing a few chords that my dad taught me and then started learning Nirvana stuff which was my favorite band at the time. Slowly throughout the years I learned much though I wish that I had taken lessons early on in life because most of the learning I did was in college when I was actually taking lessons. I grew up in a low income household so that was never an option but at least I'm glad that I was able to obtain that knowledge at some point in my life. Nowadays I listen to progressive metal, jazz, fusion, and video game music as well as a bunch of other genres.

I have been teaching for a total of four years. My official teaching experience started in Houston with 64 students, and I fell in love with teaching. I have played piano for ten years and I have been singing all my life, taking part in many performance groups, such as rock bands and theater groups. I teach all styles. From rock to classical, from theater to pop. Whatever the student would like to learn. I also encourage students to explore other genres as well to create a versatile voice. I implement ear training, sight-reading, and music theory throughout my curriculums, especially for younger students creating strong musicians all around. I will be one of the most patient teachers you have ever met, whether you are four years old or eighty.

I started playing Electric Guitar around 14 and knew I wanted to play music forever which pushed me to focus on pursuing an education in music. I began to play Classical Guitar and Cello at Americas High School and experienced my first out of town gig in Austin, Tx. I continued to chase music at El Paso Community College where I had studied Voice, Piano, Jazz, Recording, Choir, and Guitar. I continued at UTEP and learned about improv, business, arranging, composition, music history, and performance. After graduating from UTEP, I was hired at Guitar Center giving guitar lessons to students of all ages and experience. Being an instructor made me realize it is a great feeling to pass my knowledge of music to others, so I took an alternative certification program at Region-19 and became a Texas Certified Music educator in 2024.

Started percussion and music at the young age of 10, for the school concert band and graduated early from El Paso Academy to do more music. Participated in school marching band, and make to state 3 years in a row. I was apart of the jazz band, as well as the concert band, competed in solo and ensemble with all ones, and made it to denver with indoor percussion. Transferred to a school with no band to finish early but had more time to be apart of independent local groups as a drummer. I discovered my love for teaching when I was invited to my old school to help and tech drums for marching season, where I was able to give pointers and advice to already experienced percussionists. It was then I wondered if I was able to teach a student who knew nothing about music from scratch, which is when I challenged myself and gave lessons to beginners and worked out amazingly. From there on I've always gave it my all when teaching a student the way to groove because seeing any of my students succeed and progressing on their musical journey makes me feel just as good as succeeding with a music piece on stage myself, which is one like no other.
