Guitar Center Memphis opened its doors for the first time the evening of Thursday, April 17th 2003, and since that fateful night we have held strong on our commitment to serving Memphis and all of our surrounding areas with an unparalleled quality of service, selection, and pricing. Our crew is steeped in local culture and continues to play a part in the local scene, whether on stage or as a patron in your audience.
We are here to offer advice, service, and support to any level of musician, from the practicing beginner to the road worthy professional.
This includes our new free to the public "Recording Made Easy" classes every Saturday morning at 10:00am! This month our classes are focused on Garage Band. Our classes are easy enough to get a beginner going, and also teach a few more tricks and tips for a recording veteran. Bring your mac, iPad, or notepad and come learn with us! Miss a class? Don’t worry, we have brief catch up with every lesson.
We also have full service techs on staff with our Guitar Center Garage. Adam Lucchesi and Clay Crenshaw have an unmatched commitment to making sure your guitar will play perfect for you. We can do anything from simple restrings to broken headstock repairs. Come in soon and meet up with our techs to help you make your guitar play great!
We take pride in offering the best brands in Guitars and basses from Gibson, Fender, Ernie Ball, Schecter, Ibanez, Jackson, Martin, Taylor, Breedlove, Larrivee, Seagull, Yamaha and many more! We’ve recently added plenty of banjos, dobros, ukuleles, and mandolins. We also carry amps from Marshall, Fender, Orange, Vox, Line 6 acoustic, Egnator, Ampeg, GK, Markbass and many more used pieces. We’ve also taken the initiative to expand our pedal collection to offer many of the cool boutique pieces that collectors have been hunting and dreaming for. Come in and hear how great these pieces really are that you’ve been reading and hearing about!
Our Professional Audio department is also ready to help your church, studio, band or club set up your dream production. Our keyboard selection ranges from beginner keyboards, electric pianos, and full synth stations. Our live room is filled with the latest technology lighting, passive and active speaker systems, mixers, and rack mount gear to build the perfect live setup. We also have a great selection of recording equipment to suit both the home studio enthusiast and the professional studios all around the city. We’ve helped some of the biggest studios and churches in Memphis, and we’re ready to help you!
One of our coolest rooms in the store is our Drum Department. We offer the coolest drums from DW, PDP, Pearl, Mapex, OCDP, and plenty of others. We also have a great selection of ethnic drums such as bongos, cajons, timbales, djembes, congas, bongos, tambourines, rainsticks, and everyone’s favorite instrument to spell: the didgeridoo. We also have a great cymbal room and cutting edge electronic drums for you to try out.
