    Camellia Akhamie Kies has been drumming and playing percussion for over 20 years. She began her music career at the age of nineteen when she was accepted into the United States Navy Music Program. Camellia is a military veteran, a graduate from the Navy School of Music and a graduate from the University of Maryland. Born in Heidelberg, Germany in 1989, Camellia expressed a deep interest in Music from a very young age. During high school, she began to study drums and percussion privately with Myles Overton III from the United States Army Band “Perishing Own”. In 2019, Camellia went on a WORLD tour with Latin Grammy Winner Buika and her all female band 2 months after giving birth to her first son, Julian Akhamie Kies. Camellia is currently writing and producing her second album and plans to release it November 2021.
