History and Staff
Opening September of 1999, Guitar Center Salt Lake City has been serving musicians across the state of Utah and beyond for 12 years.  You can shop with confidence knowing that many of our employees have other rolls in the music industry.  From composers to gigging band members, professional DJs to sound techs, we have a staff that has hands on experience with musical instruments and equipment outside of the store.  Over 1/3 our team has been with Guitar Center for more than 5 years.  This combined with our ongoing training programs will give you some of the most consultative and knowledgeable team members out of any musical instrument stores in the area.  

The Community
Guitar Center is more than just the largest musical retailer in the world.  Each store is unique and does what we can to reach out to our local music communities.  A great example of this is the free recording made easy workshop that we hold every Saturday from 10am to 11am.  Other programs we have are King of the Blues, Drum Off, and the Singer Songwriter competition.  All of these contests discover local talent and offer the musician a big stepping stone opportunity into a professional musical career.

With the widest selection of Guitars, Basses, Amps, Drums, Keyboards, Recording Equipment, Live Sound Systems, DJ Rigs and Used instruments, we are the one stop shop for anyone’s musical needs.  Packed and stacked to the ceilings, our location has one of the best assortments across the surrounding 6 states.  If we don’t have exactly what you’re looking for, we have immediate, hassle free access to not only the 700,000 square foot warehouse in Kansas City, but every piece of inventory in all 220 stores across the United States.  Whether you are a beginning musician or the gigging pro, we are bound to have the right instrument or musical equipment to help you make music.
