Jeffrey Burness
Distance: mi
Guitar Center Orange 50 Boston Post Rd. Orange, CT
Jeff Burness, a guitar player, hails from Wallingford Connecticut. Growing up listening to everything from classic rock to metal, he started playing guitar at the age of 16. After a rough first week of Smells Like Teen Spirit being played repeatedly and sloppily it was time for lessons. By the age of 20, he had played in a few local bands, highlighted by opening up for Static-X on the mainstage on the Webster Theatre. He was lucky to meet guitar virtuoso Andy Martin, who became his instructor, and helped Jeff’s music theory and technique progress further. With a newfound perspective on music, he has been self taught since, balancing keeping his nose buried in guitar books and playing as much guitar as possible. He enjoys listening to/playing along with everything from lofi hip-hop to progressive metal and everything in between. Inspired by the likes of Tim Henson and Jason Richardson he is on a constant journey to keep getting better at guitar. Even through darker times, the guitar has consistently been a positive thing in his life, and he is looking forward to sharing that with people who want to be guitarists themselves.

I've been drumming for 10 years, and over the past 6 or so I've really fallen in love with music and songwriting! I've played in quite a few bands/groups in my time, and I've done quite a bit of studio work and digital production as well. I've studied sound recording and music at the College of Saint Rose for two years and currently attend the University of New Haven. I try and keep lessons interesting for my students, and I'm not afraid to shift the focus of the lesson to a different area for a bit if they seem uninterested. I look forward to working with you!

Christian Aja
Distance: mi
Guitar Center Orange 50 Boston Post Rd. Orange, CT
Christian has been playing music since the age of 2 and started piano lessons at 7. He grew up performing in church communities before switching over to guitar at the age of 15. He was self taught for 2 years before starting to gig around the tri state area . In college he studied classical guitar as well as music theory. His specialty is Solo Acoustic Modern Percussive Fingerstyle Guitar. The aim of this style is to create the illusion of a full band playing together using just one acoustic guitar. Playing the bassline, chords, melody, and percussion all at once sometimes requires open tunings, and unorthodox techniques like body percussion, tapping, harmonics, slap harmonics and others.
David Coffey
Distance: mi
Guitar Center Orange 50 Boston Post Rd. Orange, CT
Dave is an enthusiastic and energetic instructor, excited to help students actualize their musical dreams. Dave's teaching method usually starts with basic technical skills before exploring theory in depth, though he can cater to whatever is ideal for his students. Known for his patience, he can work with students at any walk of their music journey. A relative latecomer to guitar, he started playing seriously when his father taught him a handful of chords at the age of 17. From there, he hit the ground running, exploring and learning more to expand his understanding. From teaching himself new songs, chords, and delving into music theory, Dave accrued a massive plethora of knowledge that he is eager to share. Dave is a punk rocker at heart, though he explores and embraces many different styles of music. Punk, in addition to blues, folk, classic rock, and even hip hop, are just a few of the genres he has taught and personally enjoys. A few of his favorite guitarists are Jack White, Ty Segall, Jimi Hendrix, and Freddie King, whom he works to emulate in his own music. When he isn't teaching, Dave books shows and plays in multiple projects; having had the privilege of playing and singing for large crowds across the country and beyond.

After graduating high-school, he briefly attended the Berklee College of Music for music performance, receiving instruction from Larry Finn and Jackie Santos. Frankie Forbes
Distance: mi
Guitar Center Orange 50 Boston Post Rd. Orange, CT
Hey, I'm Frankie! I'm a drum instructor who specializes in heavy metal, hard rock, and progressive metal. I started playing drums about 15 years ago. I was mainly self taught until I decided to apply to music school. To prepare myself, I spent a lot of time being taught the fundamentals of: stick control and technique, rudimental snare solos, and of course, how to apply it all to a drum kit. Later in music school I learned to become proficient in most genes and styles of music, but always favored rock and metal. Throughout the years I've become extremely passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience with drummers both young and old. Whether you want to learn blast beats, crazy double kick techniques, or even if this is your first time picking up drum sticks, I'd love to be apart of your musical journey!
