Michael Vick

Guitar Center Reno 6663 S. Virginia St. Reno, NV
My name is Michael and I have been playing bass for a few years. I grew up in Sacramento and went to Rio Americano High School. When I was in seventh grade I was put into an advanced band having never touched an instrument in my life. Starting on saxophone, I really enjoyed classical music. I was able to learn the Glazunov Concertos at one point and it was a lot of fun. A year or so later, I fell out of favor for it when all the music I grew up listening to was not very playable on saxophone and decided to switch to bass. I fell in love with the instrument and immediately started learning Metallica, Nirvana, etc. A few months after I started picking up its cousin the double bass and learned to play jazz so I can play with all of my talented friends out in the real world. I quickly got accustomed to it and started leading my own bands. I really wanted to make a difference by the time I graduated so I threw myself into my High School music program. I was leading bands there and did as much as I could to make it amazing as I knew it could be. By the time I graduated I won multiple MVP awards for my work along with the Directors award and the Patrick S. Gilmore award. By then I knew I wanted music to be the rest of my life so I moved to Reno and am now an Undergraduate at UNR learning as much as I can to move on and play music forever in any way I can.
