I started drumming at 7 years old in 2011, and started playing guitar at 10. I played in Jazz band in middle school and high school. I started as the class drummer in 2016, and switched to Jazz guitar my sophomore year in 2019. I am currently the singer and guitarist of my band Willowake since 2021. We play alternative rock and draw inspiration from bands like the Foo Fighters and Green Day. I've taken lessons for both drums and guitar since I began playing, and have always looked up to my lesson instructors for guidance and motivation as they always pushed me to be a greater musician. I want to ensure I instill the same confidence that I was given in my students.

His teaching focuses on the students needs- whether a beginner learning the basic rudiments and beats, or the professional looking to expand their proficiency, Also, learning specific songs is part of the learning process of adding 'tools' to a student's tool chest. The lessons are tailored to be fun while delving into the needed work of learning to play drums.
Gary Bruno
Distance: mi
Guitar Center Lawndale 4525 Artesia Blvd Lawndale, CA
New Jersey native, Gary Bruno began studying guitar at age seven. He showed an interest in music at the age of five with Drums leading the way. Soon after, the drums were put aside to make way for guitar. Taking weekly lessons Gary almost immediately showed prodigious technique and a hunger for learning music. Gary attributes this early desire to his Mom & Dad providing him with a radio which seemed to go everywhere with him as early as age three. He went to sleep with music on and awoke much the same. After a short period of guitar lessons Gary began to learn the songs of the day from the radio. While he was taught to read music the immediate need for it took a backseat to learning pop music from his trusty radio.By age thirteen Gary had his first professional job with his band. Hired by a family friend to play a Christmas Party, that job was the first of what would become a livelihood for the better part of the next twenty-five plus years. In addition to performing, Gary maintained a rigorous teaching schedule and by junior year in High School Gary was playing three to four nights a week as well as teaching. All four years of High School also found Gary playing first chair in the Local Jazz Ensemble and winning outstanding soloist awards two of the four years. After High School Gary began to get calls for recording sessions from unsigned local songwriters and local producers creating jingles for radio advertisements. Local club dates with bands served as Garys night job, and the days found him teaching, recording and studying guitar. These club dates kept Gary within the New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania area with occasional travel elsewhere. On a recommendation from a friend Gary landed a seat in the Dave Mason Band, which took his playing to a National & International level. This led to playing Greenpeace concerts with John Denver. In his travels Gary found himself drawn to warmer weather, which brought him to Las Vegas playing the Las Vegas Strip as much as six nights a week. After leaving Las Vegas, (no movie or song innuendos please) Gary settled in Southern California where he currently resides. Considering himself a forever student of music and guitar, Garys future plans include composing, recording & performing. He has toured, recorded or played with:
Monique Caruso
Distance: mi
Guitar Center Lawndale 4525 Artesia Blvd Lawndale, CA
Monique is a self taught guitarist who is 34 years old and has been playing guitar for the past 27 years. She started at the young age of 7, after being told by male peers that "girls can't play guitar." From that moment on, Monique sought out to prove their theory wrong, and prove that girls can play guitar just as well as guys, if not better! She locked herself in her room and would practice every note of her favorite rock n roll songs for hours on end, especially lead guitar and nailing all of the classic, timeless rock n roll solos. This self-taught journey has given Monique's teaching a raw approach with a strong emphasis of learning what you love to develop your own unique sound, and pushing the envelope beyond standard Music Theory into melodic, soulful playing. As Monique's journey progressed, she adopted other styles and genres into her playing by performing with various artists around Los Angeles. Some of these include, but are not limited to: R&B, Pop, Rock, Metal, Folk, Country, Blues, Hip Hop, Neo-Soul, and Prog-rock. She is also a songwriter, and has written with prolific R&B group I-15, whose hit song "Lost in Love" rocked the MTV music charts in 2007. The heart of her teaching approach comes from developing her own melodic, unique style of playing by having self-belief, perseverance, and learning the music that spoke to her on a deeper level.
