Jesse Kennemer
Distance: mi
Guitar Center Medford 2570 Crater Lake Hwy. Medford, OR
Jesse Kennemer has been a part of Southern Oregons music scene for almost twenty years. Kennemer, at the ripe old age of ten, began playing at several local jam sessions, The Rogue Theatre, and at the Back to the '50s concert in Riverside Park. His biggest accomplishment that year was performing at the Austin Texas Music Hall with Robert Randolph and the Los Lonely Boys on New Years Eve. Kennemer loves the guitar. He began playing at six and would listen to music endlessly and play it by ear. At eight he studied under local guitarist Randy Mackay, who was a former student of Joe Satriani, and so began his love for Satriani. Bending and shredding emotion is what it’s about for Kennemer. In Hawaii, where his dad is from, he was taught under expert guitar maker and shredder, Avi Ronen of Lahaina Custom Guitars. There, Kennemer was introduced to the ukulele and the slide guitar. Gary Mallabar, a Gold and Platinum musician, and former member of The Steve Miller Band, saw talent in Kennemer. Kennemer began recording with Mallaber on their debut album Stinger in 2016. They are currently working on their 2nd instrumental album.
