GET TO KNOW GUITAR CENTER, Detroit

In the last couple weeks we have seen some cool, new guitar effect pedals come into our inventory at Guitar Center Detroit. I'm a huge Pedal Geek myself so I wanted to tell you all about a few of my new favorites.

First up is the ZVEX Instant LoFi Junky. This pedal is based on getting the cool sound of the ZVEX LoFi Loop Junky, but without the difficult looping function. It sounds like the compression and wobble of a tube tape delay without the delay. DREAM-Y! You can actually blend between the compression circuit and the modulation circuit for all kinds of interesting flavors of wobble. The modulation circuit also gives you 3 choices of waveform to choose from. Uh, basically that means it can go from a delicate sine wave to an almost ring modulation square wave. A very unique and useful pedal for any pedal board.

Next is the Mad Professor Golden Cello. David Gilmour in a box? Pretty much. It is a good overdrive to distortion circuit with built in delay. Much easier than stepping on two pedals at once. At first glance it doesn't seem like there are enough control knobs on this thing to tweak it properly for delay time and repeats. However, after looking under the hood we discovered no less than 4 internal controls that the Mad Professor has given you for repeat, 2 delay times and drive settings. After playing with those we were able to conjure something close to the "Time" solo from Dark Side Of The Moon. In fact, the ZVEX Instant LoFi Junky running into the Golden Cello might just get it done for that sound. This is Mad Professor's first pedal at Guitar Center and is an exclusive to us.

Then there is the Whampler Sovereign distortion. All I can say is WOW! Several of my associates and myself have played with this well built pedal and all of us have been blown away by how many different distortion styles it can handle. You can get glassy overdrive with great chord clarity, smooth scooped saturation, ear splitting mids, boost and all other things in between. It is also very sensitive to your playing technique and audio taper volume/tone pots. This thing is a real Swiss army knife of tone. It is also a Guitar Center exclusive.

Pedal Geeks of Detroit: I am one of you! Please come in to Guitar Center in Roseville, MI and let me show you the cool new pedals from these great boutique pedal legends.
