Nicolas Jahde
Distance: mi
Guitar Center Spokane 5702 N. Division St. Spokane, WA
My name is Nick Jahde and I teach piano at Guitar Center. I have been teaching for 8 years, and I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with a variety of students, ages from 3 to adult, in many music studios. I first started teaching in California, where I am originally from, where I taught my friends and family members. Later, I went to Whitworth University for college, where I studied Piano Pedagogy with Judith Schoepflin, which greatly refined my teaching skills. After college, I taught piano at music studios in California, and have now moved back to Spokane to continue the joy of teaching at Guitar Center. In my classroom, I love to explore the many different aspects of music education with my students. We will go over songs, scales, history, technique and much more. Also, I recognize that every student has different learning styles and preferred tastes of music, so I will tailor my teaching to their learning as much as possible, and I will often allow my students to choose a fun piece, such as a song from a Disney movie. Lastly, I love to learn from my students as well, and there have been many times where a student will introduce to me a new song I have not come across before, or they will simply amaze me by how well they play a piece. I am originally from the Bay Area in California, but went to Whitworth University for college, and have loved it here in Spokane ever since! A fun fact about me is that I can play many instruments, including piano, trombone, tuba, ukulele, recorder, baritone and bass trombone. I enjoy amateur astronomy, reading and composing music, and spend my time with my wife exploring the parks of Spokane.

Marcelles' style and technique have led him to performances in gospel music, hip-hop, fusion, Motown, rock, a three year stint with recording group Men Of Endurance, and with such artists as TooShort, Suga T, Carl Wheeler, Paul Porter, Victoria Theodore. He has worked alongside other professional musicians both live and in the studio.
