The story of Guitar Center Portland begins on February 22nd, 2006. On this day, the best selection of, and guaranteed lowest prices on Guitars, Basses, Amps, Acoustics, Accessories, Drums, Recording, Live Sound, Keyboards, and DJ equipment became available to the Greater Portland area and beyond. We have an experienced sales staff, many who have been with the store since day 1, and are happy to assist you in your next musical endeavor. Come on over and find your next piece of gear in our large showroom (see the photo tab above) or ask a sales associate about placing an order through our distribution center, which carries over 38,000 different items in stock. We also buy, sell, and trade used gear!

In addition to sales, we offer in house guitar repair and maintenance. Our repair technician is Matt Shaw. Some of the services we offer to the local community are a free "Recording Made Easy" class that we run for an hour on every Saturday at 10am. It is a 4 day class, that repeats each month, and is designed to show musicians of all skill levels how easy it is to record at home! We also have a public community board at the front of the store, where anyone can post flyers and cards for upcoming gigs, lessons, services, and networking. We also offer a free lesson through Maine Academy of Modern Music with a purchase of any Guitar.
