I have been playing for over 45 years mainly in gospel with a jazzy touch. I was formally trained on guitar at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Illinois. I have traveled and played in the Midwest and California. I love teaching, and my students are equipped to read sheet music and play by ear. Meet our drum instructor Collin Spier, a local St. Louis area drummer with 15+ years live performance experience. Like most children with an interest in drums or percussion, Collin started banging on pots and pans at two years old. His father, a local singer, songwriter, and bass player, always assured that music was a prominent element within their household. Dedicated, Collin learned to keep rhythm on whatever he could find, until finally purchasing his own drums when he was just twelve years old. By the time he was fifteen, he had spent countless amounts of time and energy drumming to various types of music, finding great interest in classic rock. It was around this time he became a member of the band ‘Doc Holiday’, performing numerous venues along with his father and associating with many other great musicians across the St. Louis area. Collin has also performed with a classic rock band ‘Unbroken’ and is still drumming in the local area with a group called ‘Flipside’.

Learning an instrument is an enriching and rewarding experience that creates lifelong benefits, including increased self-esteem and the boosting of memory. 30-minute lessons allow young or beginner students to learn the basics of the instrument and start playing songs. 60-minute lessons are ideal for more advanced students looking to progress faster and focus on the finer points of technique.
This varies by age and the type of goals the student has set out to achieve. However, most new students usually spend 15–30 min. practicing daily, while advanced students can practice for an hour or more each day in between lessons.
Our flexible curriculum allows students of all skill levels to experience growth. We help create a foundational understanding of music theory through the style of music you want to play. Our instructors will work to understand your goals and passions, and make sure you are on the path to learning what you want at your own speed.
