Hello!  My name is Matt, and I am an Assistant Manager at Guitar Center in Greenwood, Indiana.  I am a tube amp enthusiast!...
I grew up in a small town in Illinois. Played in garage bands with my friends and I remember how we would wake up early on Saturday mornings grab our boom boxes and walk down to our local guitar store to check out the gear. The store was the next town over and took an hour and a half to walk to. What sticks out in my mind is that the store wouldn't let you touch the gear. So we would wait until the owner received a phone call and when he left grab something down and just play on it for a minute. He would come back and catch us and yell.
He would kick us out and we would come back and do it over again a couple weeks later.
It's funny that all these years later I end up running a giant version of what that store was and those memories stayed with me all this time.
So when I'm asked "what makes your store special or different?" I have to say that in Guitar Center Greenwood we open up to have a good time. To play anything in the store. To help start the roadmap to get people into that cool piece of gear they always wanted. To give a kid who hangs up some guitar players poster because he plays this cool Les Paul a chance to play it. To dream out loud for awhile. Guitar Center Greenwood is an interactive and fun experience for all.
